A new $2 million, 5-year project titled ‘Valuing our Volcanic Plains’ has begun work to improve the management of 2,050 ha of grasslands and grassy woodlands to the west of Melbourne. The project is funded by the Australian Government and is being coordinated by the PPWCMA in partnership with Hume City Council, Greater Geelong City Council and Melton City Council.
It will work with landholders to reduce weeds, pest animals and inappropriate land management practices affecting vegetation communities and species on the Victorian Volcanic Plains that are listed in the Environmental Biodiversity Protection and Conservation (EPBC) Act.
For more information, contact Kacie Melfi at the PPWCMA on 8781 7900.
