Raising awareness about the value and use of native grasslands, seasonal wetlands, grassy woodlands & other ecosystems on the Victorian Volcanic Plains

Grassland tours for CFA members, contractors and roadside managers

The Corangamite Catchment Management Authority (CCMA) in conjunction with DELWP & CFA will be conducting bus tours of roadside native grasslands on the Victorian Volcanic Plain on Sunday October 18 (Colac) and Monday October 19 (Bannockburn). These tours will focus on roadside management where burning plays a key role in maintaining the quality of the grassland.

The bus trip is open to anyone interested in the management of roadsides, especially those who are CFA members, local government or VicRoads contractors and local landholders with properties that border on significant roadside reserves.

Please RSVP by 13 October or you may miss out. There are 2 tours planned for the Glenelg CMA area in November.

These tours are part of the Federally funded Linear Reserves Project where there is a focus on improving the management of significant grassland remnants on road and rail reserves and supporting the work of CFA and local government.
