The Lake Bolac Eel Festival theme for 2016 will be Aboriginal Land Management. Bill Gammage and Bruce Pascoe are keynote speakers. The Lake Bolac Eel Festival is a family-friendly music and art festival highlighting the environment and celebrating Indigenous culture.

New this year is the art auction and dinner on Friday evening and on Sunday there will be a full morning of activities, film screenings and music with the popular MikMaks entertaining young people of all ages.

Saturday kicks off with the Environmental Forum at 11am with the theme of Indigenous Land Management and two outstanding keynote speakers – Bill Gammage, author of “The biggest estate on earth: how Aborigines made Australia” and Bruce Pascoe author of “Dark emu: black seeds – agriculture or accident”
There is a great line-up of music on the Festival Stage – Benny Walker, Dave Arden, Phillip Henry & Hannah Martin, Neil Murray and Matt Walker, Frank Yamma, Kylie Auldist (Bamboos). There will be several film screenings, workshops, displays and market stalls. The Twilight Celebration – unique to the Festival, story telling, a buskers stage, and plenty of children’s entertainment.
