Basalt Peppercress and Dwarf Spider Orchid

Basalt Peppercress and Dwarf Spider-orchid are just two of the many threatened species in the Victorian Volcanic Plain Bioregion. If you are interested in knowing more about them read the recently produced fact sheets. The Dwarf Spider-orchid is only known from one site, was only rediscovered a few years age and is listed as critically endangered.

The Basalt Peppercress is not common and looks similar to the African Peppercress which is a weed. It is worthwhile knowing the difference so you don’t weed the wrong one out. Don’t forget to carry a hand lens in your kit.
