Raising awareness about the value and use of native grasslands, seasonal wetlands, grassy woodlands & other ecosystems on the Victorian Volcanic Plains

Milkmaids in Victoria Park

Victoria Park is about 130 hectares of open active and passive recreation parkland, on the corner of Gillies and Sturt Streets, Ballarat. While  a new play space is attracting a lot of visitors, there is still some small areas of the original VVP grassy woodlands. The City of Ballarat and the local CFA ensure the grassland is burnt on a regular basis and the result is lots of native flowers to enjoy.
